). In a recent news article Jacques Chirac, the President of France, announced that he would make the fight against road insecurity the first of his "three large building sites" of his five-year period.

Accident Prevention Plus Inc.'s On Board Recording System can resolve the French government's quest to improve road safety. The System will monitor a driver's behavior, profile and performance. In case of an accident or near miss, the recorder will record a black box function, 50 seconds before the incident and 10 seconds after. The system will also alert the driver with a beep when a pre-set speed threshold is reached. Other functions are available on the system and can be customized to requested desires and individuals needs.

Coupled with a sound signal that triggers when speed over 130 kilometer per hour is reached, this electronic device would be able to verify, in case of an accident, the real speed of the vehicle, the engine revs, the braking occurrence and whether or not a driver is wearing a seatbelt.
