Association executives can learn more about seminars, certification, and online opportunities by logging on to America's Learning eXchange {ALX), a free training and education resource sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor in partnership with leading organizations in training and education.

ASAE became an ALX strategic partner in January 2000 to help give association executives, staff, and members access to a wider range of professional and career development offerings. In addition, ASAE is a registered ALX course provider, with two dozen Web-based training, classroom training, and conference offerings. Nearly 600 trade and professional associations are already registered as ALX providers, along with thousands of community colleges, technical schools, professional development organizations, and consultants.

"ALX can help promote broad public awareness of the vast education and training opportunities available through the association community," says Walt Diddle, CAE, executive director of the National Electrical Safety Foundation. "The expense of promoting a conference or seminar, especially to nonmembers, is considerable. ALX is a no-cost way to make more potential attendees aware of specific programs that meet their interests and educational, licensing, and certification needs."
