AccessLan Communications Raises $35 Million in Equity Financing Led by BancBoston Ventures to Accelerate Launch of Its i-SLAM and Universal DSL and for Market Expansion.

AccessLan Communications Inc., pioneer of i-SLAM and Universal DSL, and the leading supplier of DSLAM (DSL Access Multiplexor) A central office (CO) device for ADSL service that intermixes voice traffic and DSL traffic onto a customer's DSL line. It also separates incoming phone and data signals and directs them onto the appropriate carrier's network. See DSL.  equipment for Voice-over-DSL (VoDSL), today announced that it has raised $35.1 million in equity financing led by new investor BancBoston Ventures.

 participating in the financing include previous AccessLan investors Accel Partners, Berkeley International Capital, Highland Capital, Sequoia Capital and Tudor Private Equity fund. This latest round of funding brings the total funds raised by the company to more than $75 million.

AccessLan will use the funds to accelerate the launch of its two recently unveiled breakthrough products, the PL-2000 i-SLAM, introduced in March; and the ULM-24 universal DSL line module, introduced in May. In addition, the company will use the funds for market expansion and to capitalize on the opportunities resulting from deregulation Deregulation
