Partnership Integrates Web Access Control

and Provisioning Technologies

The partnership provides large organizations with an integrated solution for provisioning and managing user access rights across the extended enterprise. An essential component for companies deploying e-business initiatives, this joint solution ensures that users -- whether employees, contractors, customers or even prospects -- needing access to company information or resources are securely authenticated and provisioned to only authorized applications. As enterprises continue to move business initiatives online, the need to mitigate risks increases. Access360's enRole provisioning software matches users with access rights, and automatically sets up accounts on a wide variety of computing systems and applications. How does the integration work?

EnRole manages and automates the provisioning of user access rights, including the setup and removal of user IDs and passwords across a wide variety of operating systems, databases and applications. SiteMinder securely manages user access to e-business Web sites by centralizing authentication and access control, and leveraging these services across all users and applications on an e-business Web site. Together, they provide a centralized point of administration for the set-up, teardown, reconciliation and secure management of users and their access rights.

With both systems working together, access control is synchronized across the entire enterprise. When a new user starts, enRole will provision the proper access rights simultaneously across all systems. Likewise, when a user leaves, those rights are immediately removed. Among other things, this synchronization facilitates a true enterprise portal, where SiteMinder can centrally control user access, with matching accounts set up on all relevant legacy systems.
