Flexible Upgrade Path Allows Users to Migrate to Windows 95 or

NT At Their Own Pace

PaperClip Software Inc. today unveiled PaperClip Network Edition 4.2 and PaperClip32 Beta Edition with a comprehensive 32 Bit Upgrade Path, all year 2000 compliant a. 1. (Computers) having dates fully and properly represented, and not susceptible to failure due to the year 2000 bug. .

The PaperClip document management and imaging product line now offers a robust set of offerings covering virtually the full spectrum of object and data storage retrieval and management solutions for any size enterprise, in both 16 bit and 32 bit environments.

-- PaperClip32 Beta Edition is PaperClip's new 32 bit version of

its well-known document management software for Windows 95

and Windows NT (Windows New Technology) A 32-bit operating system from Microsoft for Intel x86 CPUs. NT is the core technology in Windows 2000 and Windows XP (see Windows). to Windows 95 or to Windows NT versions at their own pace.

Existing PaperClip 4.1 users may purchase the Upgrade Path

between now and the release of PaperClip32 for 25% of the

existing list price of PaperClip 4.1 and also receive

PaperClip32 in the fall of 1997 at no additional charge.

Or, they may upgrade directly to PaperClip32 in the fall for

30% of the PaperClip32 list price. There is a savings of

over 30% in the cost of upgrading by purchasing the Upgrade

Path sooner.

PaperClip Software will continue to sell the products under its Enterprise Pricing Model, unveiled to popular response in October of 1996. Enterprise pricing allows users to purchase their choice of full imaging production level licenses, or to purchase viewer and desktop workstation licenses for less. Viewer licenses allow users to view and print documents without needing to modify, scan or create documents for $395 per user versus $995 per user for full production level licenses. Desktop workstation licenses have all the rights of viewer licenses plus allow for annotation 1. (programming, compiler) annotation - Extra information associated with a particular point in a document or program. Annotations may be added either by a compiler or by the programmer.  and routing capabilities for $595.

"Many of our customers have taken five or ten user systems in one department and expanded them to over one hundred users company-wide because of the cost-effective Enterprise licenses. Not every desktop needs to scan and manage the imaging production process, so customers appreciate the availability of our various licensing alternatives," said David Valentino, vice president of sales and marketing for PaperClip.
