Access, Oki Electric to Set up Joint Venture to Develop Next-generation Mobile Handset Software.


Tokyo, Japan, Oct 20, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Access and Oki Electric Industrial will establish a joint venture on November 1 to develop multimedia software for next-generation mobile handsets. The move will allow them strengthen their partnership in the IP multimedia subsystem An integrated network for telecommunications carriers that uses the IP protocol as its foundation for packetized voice, video and data. Access and Oki have worked together in IP product development since June when they signed an agreement to collaborate in the mobile IP telephony solutions business.
