"The new company's workforce will play an important role in our efforts to expand and diversify the Reservation economy beyond gaming and traditional employment opportunities."

Cayuse Technologies is initially filling 15 to 25 positions by recruiting CTUIR members, other American Indians and non-Indians living on or near the Reservation, and it is prepared to grow its workforce to 200 to 250 people over the next two years.

"We're responding to the tremendous demand among Accenture clients for outsourcing services performed by professionals within the United States, and Cayuse Technologies will help fulfill that demand," said Randy Willis, a senior executive at Accenture. "Working with Cayuse Technologies also complements Accenture's efforts to build and maintain a global workforce that mirrors that of its clients, employing diverse groups of people from different backgrounds, with a vast range of skills and experience."

Accenture will provide up to nine months of intensive and hands-on training for new hires.

"This is yet another example of how the Tribes are taking innovative steps to improve not only the lives of their members, but also to strengthen rural Oregon's economy as a whole," said U.S. Senator Gordon Smith. "I have high hopes that the jobs this venture brings will be only the beginning of greater opportunities for Tribes and communities across Oregon."
