Accenture Recognized on FORTUNE'S "100 Best Companies to Work For" List.

NEW YORK -- Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has been included on FORTUNE magazine's 2009 list of "100 Best Companies to Work For." The ranking, now in its 12th year, is a prestigious recognition of the best in workplace culture and talent initiatives.

In including Accenture on its 2009 list, FORTUNE noted that "every employee of this consulting company is assigned a career counselor -- and he or she then has thousands of courses to choose from. Average training is 78 hours a year per person."

Among the many other programs and initiatives that Accenture provides for its employees are:

* Future Leave, a self-funded sabbatical that allows U.S. employees to take up to three months away from work with continued healthcare and insurance benefits and the assurance that they can return to work after their leave;

* Backup Dependent Care, which provides U.S. employees with 40 hours of backup dependent care per year when their usual arrangements fail unexpectedly and also helps employees locate qualified care providers;

* Enhanced Flexible Work Arrangements, which offer options for how and where employees perform their work, enabling them to achieve balance in their professional and personal lives; and

* Accenture Development Partnerships, a group within Accenture that provides strategic advice and technical and project management support to non-profit organizations, NGOs, foundations and donor organizations operating in the development sector, helping these organizations achieve their social and economic development goals. The FORTUNE "100 Best Companies to Work For" list, conducted by the Great Place to Work[R] Institute, was compiled based on employee surveys, accounting for two-thirds of a company's score, and a detailed, employer-answered Culture Audit, accounting for one-third of a company's score. In 2009, more than 81,000 employees from 353 companies responded to the 57-question employee survey created by the Institute covering such topics as attitudes toward management, job satisfaction, communication, benefits and camaraderie.
