Business Editors, High-Tech Writers

BEND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 29, 2002

Accent Optical Technologies (www.accentopto.com ), a leading supplier of optoelectronics and silicon semiconductor process control systems, today announced the placement of a DIVA system with Modelithics, Inc. (www.modelithics.com), a newly formed company providing precision measurement services and computer-aided-engineering models to the RF/microwave industry.

"We will utilize Accent's DIVA Dynamic I(V) Analyzer in the performance of diode and transistor characterization and modeling work for our customers. This will also assist Accent in demonstrating the broad applicability of DIVA as a critical part of the path to accurate, non-linear model development," stated Dr. Larry Dunleavy, President of Modelithics.

Dr. Peter Blakey, Director of Product Marketing for DIVA at Accent said, "We are obviously very pleased that Modelithics, an emerging leader in the development of nonlinear device A nonlinear device is a device which does not have a linear input/output relation. In a diode, for example, the current is a non-linear function of the voltage:
models, will be using Accent's DIVA system as an integral part of their advanced characterization methodologies. Their choice confirms the importance of DIVA's measurement capabilities to the characterization and modeling community."

DIVA is a pulsed current voltage measurement Voltage measurement

DIVA was launched by Accent in Q3 of 2001 and has experienced rapid market acceptance worldwide. Modelithics was formed in Q1 2001 to address the industry-wide need for better RF & Microwave active and passive models. Models for over 2000 commercial microwave components are available for licensing, and a wide range of custom model services are available, including our short turn-around Models-On-Demand(TM) service. Accent Optical Technologies (www.accentopto.com) is a leading supplier of optoelectronic and silicon process control systems. The company's legacy dates backs over 300 years to its optical instrument manufacturing roots in York, England. It serves leading manufacturers of laser diodes A semiconductor-based laser used to generate analog signals or digital pulses for transmission through optical fibers. Both laser diodes and LEDs (light-emitting diodes) are used for this purpose, but the laser diode generates a smaller beam that is easier to couple with the smaller core , VCSELs, HBTs and high electron mobility Electron Mobility
In physics, electron mobility (or simply, mobility), is a quantity relating the drift velocity of electrons to the applied electric field across a material, according to the formula:
