 GaAsCode's Pulsed IV Measurement Instrument.

The acquisition was finalized on April 11th and the purchase price was not disclosed.

The GaAsCode Pulsed IV Measurement Instrument is a pulsed current voltage measurement Voltage measurement

Determination of the difference in electrostatic potential between two points. The unit of voltage in the International System of Units (SI) is the volt, defined as the potential difference between two points of a conducting wire carrying a
instrument that performs measurements under conditions that are representative of the physical conditions that exist in practical RF, microwave and millimeter wave circuits. The instrument is designed to measure FETs, HEMTs, HBTs, BJTs as well as diode devices, such as lasers and photodetectors, and allows users to distinguish the large signal I-V I-V Current/Voltage  characteristics of the device at RF, microwave or mm-wave frequencies, which are invariably in·var·i·a·ble

very different from the DC characteristics. Accent will incorporate this technology into its product line and officially launch the product in early Q3 of this year.

The GaAsCode acquisition extends Accent's product offerings from semiconductor materials Semiconductor materials are insulators at absolute zero temperature that conduct electricity in a limited way at room temperature (see also Semiconductor). The defining property of a semiconductor material is that it can be doped with impurities that alter its electronic properties  process control to device and IC process control. With the acquisition of GaAsCode's Pulsed IV Measurement Instrument, Accent's product offerings will allow manufacturers to track the impact of defects through materials into the finished device and IC performance.

"This recent acquisition was the next logical step in the extension of the Accent product line," says Bruce Rhine, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Accent Optical Technologies. " We can now provide our customers with a more complete solution."

"This technology is a great fit for Accent's product line. Accent makes very high quality instrumentation for the semiconductor business -- a business which we believe in and have made a lifetime commitment to," says Dr. Peter Ladbrooke, Director, GaAsCode.
