:IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries) ) for 15 Truecolor(tm) Systems for delivery in 1998. The 1998 backlog as of June 30th, including this order, is 36 Truecolor(tm) Systems and Truecolor(tm) System upgrades.

Charles E. Buchheit, President and Chief Executive Officer of Accent Color Sciences, Inc., stated: "With this latest order of 15 Truecolor(tm) Systems from IBM, we are on track to meet our 1998 objectives. This order is a clear indication of the high degree of interest the production printing and publishing industry has for spot color A color that is printed from one printing plate which contains one matched color of ink. Spot colors are used when only one or two solid colors are needed on a page or when a color has to match perfectly and be consistent such as with a company logo or when colors are the trademark of the  printing applications.

"We are pleased with the progress IBM is making in its marketing efforts to successfully introduce and integrate Truecolor(tm) Systems into demanding production environments across a broad base of users. We believe that many of these new customers are in strategic industries and have a high potential to increase their installed base of Truecolor(tm) Systems, once these initial units have been fully integrated into their production printing plants.

"Throughout the rest of the year and going into 1999, we will continue to actively support IBM's marketing activities. We are confident that we will see a growing installed base of Truecolor(tm) Systems both domestically and internationally."

The IBM InfoPrint(tm) Hi-Lite Color post processor, which incorporates Accent Color Sciences' Truecolor(tm) Systems spot color printing technology, interfaces with IBM's high-volume black-and-white production printers, including the IBM InfoPrint(tm) 4000 and the existing installed base of IBM 3900s, enabling the addition of highlight color as part of an integrated document production system.
