Accelrys Introduces New Discovery Studio Products: Accord Enterprise Informatics.

Accelrys Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pharmacopeia, Inc. (Nasdaq:PCOP), today announced the introduction of the latest round of Discovery Studio products: Accord Enterprise Informatics suite -- which will be demonstrated at the ACS National Meeting in Boston this week (Booth #314 and #320). The Accord Enterprise Informatics suite is a comprehensive solution for the storage and management of corporate chemical, biological screening, and inventory data within life science organizations. The suite enables discovery organizations to integrate their chemical and biological data into a unified and scalable system. Accord Enterprise Informatics suite is scheduled to be commercially available in mid-September 2002 and represents the first set of integrated cheminformatics data management and screening applications to be released within the Discovery Studio family of products.

The main Accord Enterprise Informatics products available in September include:

-- Discovery Studio Enterprise Core -- the central component of the suite which delivers knowledge management tools for integrating chemical and biological databases and manipulating the chemical and biological data retrieved from them.

-- Discovery Studio Accord Chemistry Cartridge -- the engine that allows Oracle(R) to store, search, and index chemical data in Accord Enterprise Informatics. The cartridge is an integral part of the suite, but is also available to developers to build custom, Oracle-based, cheminformatics solutions.

-- Discovery Studio Accord BioStore -- a complete Oracle-based framework for managing assays, protocols, and test data.

These new Discovery Studio products will allow biologists, chemists, screeners, and pharmacologists to capture, reduce, and analyze biological and chemical data. Ultimately, Accord Enterprise Informatics suite will enable biologists and chemists to exchange data and queries from one centralized database.
