Accellion and Raiffeisen to Provide Unparalleled Online Storage

Solutions and Content Lifecycle Management

Accellion, Inc., the leading provider of intelligent, globally distributed, storage and delivery solutions, announced today the formation of a European subsidiary, to be headquartered in Vienna, Austria. The new company is a partnership between, Accellion, Inc. and Raiffeisen Informatik Zentrum GmbH. (RIZ) headquartered in Vienna, Austria.

RIZ is part of the century-old Raiffeisen Group, Austria's largest private organization with over 70,000 employees and more than 200 companies, including market leaders in banking, insurance, media, construction and other established business segments. RIZ is Raiffeisen's IT Services arm, which owns and operates world-class data centers and the largest private data network in Austria.

The new company will address those market segments, which have large files and need a secure means to deliver and manage that content. This market segment includes medical imaging, the digital photo industry, and media-rich content providers, among others. The new company will initially focus on the German-speaking markets of Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Customers will have access to high capacity storage available on the Hitachi Data Systems storage area network (SAN) in place within one of Europe's most advanced data centers owned and operated by RIZ. Also within the RIZ data center is a state-of-the-art StorageTek tape library system, which currently offers over 1,000 Terabytes of storage capacity to customers.

The partnership with RIZ will also benefit Accellion's global customers. In addition to delivering content to the edges of the Internet in the most efficient way, Accellion can now offer large storage capacity at different levels of performance and cost. Frequently accessed ("fresh') content will stay at our EPoPs, while "older" (i.e. less often used) content can automatically migrate to our central SAN or Tape storage for archiving purposes.
