Acceleration Therapeutics' AT-101 Device Provides Beneficial Effect of Vasodilatation in Published Study.

NORTH BAY VILLAGE, Fla. -- Acceleration Therapeutics, a division of Non-Invasive Monitoring Systems, Inc. (OTCBB OTCBB

:NIMU) announced today that a published study using its AT-101 passive exercise device showed, for the first time, that the AT-101 produces an important benefit that also occurs with active exercise.

The President of Acceleration Therapeutics, Dr. Marvin Sackner, explained that, "One of the most important benefits of active exercise is to cause the release of nitric oxide into the bloodstream, a molecule that has direct vasodilator vasodilator /vaso·di·la·tor/ (-di-la´ter)

The paper, entitled, "Nitric Oxide is Released into Circulation with Whole-Body, Periodic Acceleration," is published in the January 2005 issue of Chest, a peer-reviewed scientific journal. Dr. Sackner also noted that the results of this study suggest, "The AT-101 might substitute for or complement active exercise in those patients whose medical condition limits physical activity."

Passive exercise is the movement of the limbs or body of a person who does not or cannot exert voluntary control of their appropriate muscles. Passive exercise with the AT-101 produced one of the important benefits of active exercise for healthy and diseased individuals. This published study found that the AT-101 increased nitric oxide activity in 14 healthy persons and 40 patients, with diseases such as osteoarthritis of hips and knees, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, neuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome carpal tunnel syndrome: see repetitive stress injury.
