interface standard has been widely adopted across a large variety of embedded platforms and applications and is now in use by more than 50% of the embedded developers in Japan. As a result there is a large base of software targeted to the uITRON specification. Accelerated Technology's Nucleus uiPLUS allows customers to take advantage of their uITRON legacy code. ATI and Tensilica have ported Nucleus uiPLUS to Tensilica's Xtensa processor. The combination of Nucleus uiPLUS and the Xtensa processor will for the first time enable system developers to take advantage of a processor uniquely tailored to the application requirements while preserving software compatibility with the proven and popular uITRON specification.
