Accelerated Technology(R), the Embedded Systems Embedded systems

Computer systems that cannot be programmed by the user because they are preprogrammed for a specific task and are buried within the equipment they serve.
Division of Mentor Graphics Mentor Graphics, Inc (NASDAQ: MENT) is a US-based multinational corporation dealing in electronic design automation (EDA) for electrical engineering and electronics, as of 2004, ranked third in the EDA industry it helped create.  Corporation (Nasdaq:MENT), today announced it has joined the Renesas Technology's SH-Mobile Consortium to serve as one of the first commercial real-time operating system (operating system) Real-Time Operating System - (RTOS) Any operating system where interrupts are guaranteed to be handled within a certain specified maximum time, thereby making it suitable for control of hardware in embedded systems and other time-critical applications.  (RTOS (1) (RealTime Operating System) An operating system designed for use in a real time computer system. The SH-Mobile Consortium is a membership program, with the SH-Mobile platform at its core, in which partners collaborate to seek out and create system solutions for developers of cellular phone applications.

The Nucleus(R) PLUS real-time kernel is one of the most widely deployed commercial kernels in the cellular phone market. In 2003, the Nucleus PLUS kernel had more than 40 design wins in cellular phone applications alone. From a technical standpoint, the Nucleus PLUS kernel is ideal for these applications because it is fast, flexible, has a small memory footprint Memory footprint refers to the amount of main memory that a program uses or references while running. This includes all sorts of active memory regions like code, static data sections (both initialized and uninitialized), heap, as well as all the stacks, plus memory required to hold  and comes with a comprehensive suite of middleware. The royalty-free business model for both RTOS and middleware is an ideal fit for the high-production volumes associated with wireless handsets.

Accelerated Technology has supported the SH series of processors with its Nucleus RTOS Nucleus RTOS is a real-time operating system (RTOS) and full-featured toolset created by the Embedded Systems Division of Mentor Graphics for various CPU platforms. Nucleus RTOS is part of a complete embedded solution with a full complement of embedded middleware available.  for many years. In addition to the Nucleus PLUS kernel, there are a number of Nucleus middleware components that are tightly integrated to support the SH processor family including a networking suite, file management software, graphical user interface graphical user interface (GUI)

Computer display format that allows the user to select commands, call up files, start programs, and do other routine tasks by using a mouse to point to pictorial symbols (icons) or lists of menu choices on the screen as opposed to having to
package and Web-accessing software. With such a rich product portfolio and proven success in the fast-growing cellular market, Accelerated Technology is positioned to provide customers with a solid development environment for building next-generation wireless designs.

"As a member of the SH-Mobile Consortium, Accelerated Technology will help us in our goal to provide support for the hardware, software and mobile phone terminal developers to support the growing SH-Mobile ecosystem," said Ikuya Kawasaki, department manager of SOC Design Dept.6, SOC Div., MCU&SOC Business Unit at Renesas Technology Renesas Technology Corporation (ルネサス テクノロジ| .

"We are pleased to accept Renesas' invitation to join the SH-Mobile Consortium," said Robert Day Robert Day (1836-1914) was an Irish antiquarian and photographer. Biography
