Accelerated Technology's Nucleus IPv6 Gets Upgrade and Official ''IPv6 Ready'' Certification.

MOBILE, Ala. -- Accelerated Technology(R), a Mentor Graphics Mentor Graphics, Inc (NASDAQ: MENT) is a US-based multinational corporation dealing in electronic design automation (EDA) for electrical engineering and electronics, as of 2004, ranked third in the EDA industry it helped create.  division (Nasdaq:MENT), today announced availability of version 1.2 of the Nucleus(R) IPv6 software and certification of the same product as "IPv6 ready," according to according to

(networking) Internet Protocol - (IP) The network layer for the TCP/IP protocol suite widely used on Ethernet networks, defined in STD 5, RFC 791. IP is a connectionless, best-effort packet switching protocol.
(IP) version 6, or IPv6, is a network layer protocol that allows messages to be routed to different networks or subnets. The enhancements and certification of the Nucleus IPv6 software provides developers assurance that the networking applications they build are IPv6 protocol compatible and therefore able to communicate with other IPv6-compatible devices anywhere in the world.

One of the new features added to the Nucleus IPv6 software is support for RIPng (Routing Information Protocol See RIP.

Once a fashionable quarter, it became popular among writers and artists in the 19th cent.  (small office/home office See SOHO. ) routers. Advanced IPv6 sockets support has also been provided to the newest version of the Nucleus IPv6 software. This new interface extends the standard socket interface to provide support for IPv6 protocol advanced capabilities including the ability to set and retrieve extension headers such as hop-by-hop, routing and destination headers, extra sockets options and more.

Rounding out the list of upgrades is full routing support for the Nucleus IPv6 software. IPv6 protocol operates differently depending on configuration as a router or as a host. The first release of the Nucleus IPv6 software contained support for host operations only. Now, with the addition of router support, developers are able to use the latest version of the Nucleus IPv6 software in devices that can configure the local network such as SOHO routers and 802.11 access points.

Protocol interoperability is a big concern as more and more networking devices such as multimedia appliances, printers and cell phones are being used in the global marketplace. Therefore, conformance to a particular standard is required so that all IPv6 products built can be accessed and used by other IPv6-compatible devices. Certification of the Nucleus IPv6 software means that products created with the Nucleus IPv6 software are guaranteed to be compatible with other IPv6 protocol implementations. Developers can be confident that their choice in the Nucleus software will lead to a successfully integrated product.

"The momentum behind IPv6 protocol is building, especially with the support of large entities such as the Japanese and Korean governments, as well as the U.S. Department of Defense. Many companies, particularly outside of the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. , are gearing up with products to meet this growing market, and the Nucleus IPv6 software is the solution they need to be successful," said Robert Day Robert Day (1836-1914) was an Irish antiquarian and photographer.
