Accelerated Networks, leader in voice and data over DSL and integrated broadband access See broadband and wireless broadband. , has successfully completed compliance testing of its GR-303 offering with Siemens' EWSD Class 5 switch.

By completing the Siemens EWSD test bed, Accelerated becomes the only integrated broadband access vendor to have documented compliance of its GR-303 solution with the three major Class 5 switches. Previous compliance has been achieved with Lucent's 5ESS (1) (Electronic Switching System) A large-scale computer from Lucent used to route telephone calls in a telephone company office. The 5ESS is a Class 5 central office switch, and the 4ESS is a Class 4 tandem office switch.  AnyMedia(TM) switch, and Nortel's DMS (1) (Document Management System) See document management.

"Completion of this test suite signifies a key milestone in Accelerated's proven functionality and interoperability across all three major Class 5 switches," stated Suresh Nihalani, Accelerated's president and chief executive officer.

"Our customers have the comfort factor of knowing that our products have been tested objectively by the manufacturers of their switches, not just limited field tests. When it comes to delivering carrier-grade voice, we must demonstrate that comprehensive testing has been conducted. Passing this exhaustive range of tests does just that."

Accelerated Networks achieved documented compliance with Nortel's DMS 100 and DMS 500 test beds in June of this year, followed by Lucent 5ESS compliance in August.

"Completion of the EWSD compliance testing is an important achievement," said Eve Aretakis, president of Siemens' Information and Communications Networks The transmission channels interconnecting all client and server stations as well as all supporting hardware and software.  Carrier Division. "Customers who are evaluating and deploying the Accelerated Networks solution will frequently tie into an EWSD, and proven GR-303 functionality is an integral component of their overall multi-service access network deployment.

"This feature is one reason many Siemens customers are selecting the Accelerated solution and Siemens switching solutions for integrated broadband access."

Siemens offers Accelerated's integrated broadband access products as part of a comprehensive portfolio of turnkey network solutions.
