) today announced the promotion of Edward E. Thurman to president and chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Thurman joined Accelerated Networks earlier this year as chief technology officer where he has been instrumental in guiding the Company's product and technology direction, with a particular emphasis on very large scale multiservice broadband access See broadband and wireless broadband.  deployments typically encountered by larger IXCs and RBOCs. Thurman offers Accelerated a unique combination of strong technical and effective management capabilities. ) Soni to vice president, worldwide sales. Soni replaces Charles D. Vogt who has resigned to take on a senior management role with a company that is not a competitor. Soni has been with Accelerated Networks since the beginning and has held a variety of senior management roles, most recently vice president of business development, and including vice president of worldwide sales, prior to Vogt joining Accelerated. He has significant industry experience and strong working relationships with both existing customers and prospects, thereby enabling a strong transition of relationships.

The Company also promoted Fima Vaisman to vice president, marketing to replace Kevin Walsh, who has resigned to take on a senior management role within a company that is not a competitor. Vaisman has been with Accelerated since its infancy infancy, stage of human development lasting from birth to approximately two years of age.
