Accelent Systems Introduces the Schema Development Suite; Intel XScale -- PXA250/210 -- / Microsoft Windows CE .NET & Pocket PC Versions Now Available.

Business Editors & High Tech Writers

      AKRON, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 14, 2002--Accelent Systems
Inc., a leading enabler of embedded devices and Gold-level member of
Microsoft's Windows Embedded Partner Program, today introduced the
Schema Development Suite for embedded product development. The Schema
Development Suite streamlines the traditional software development
process of writing and editing source code (device drivers,
bootloader, OAL and utilities) by providing the code libraries, tools
and hardware platforms to quickly and easily configure customized
system software images for a specific embedded device.
The Schema Development Suite is comprised of three distinct pieces
that work in conjunction to speed the development of today's leading
embedded devices, such as PDA's, web pads and smart phones. Prior to
the Schema product launch, DeviceWare and CoreLinx, described below,
were used internally to enable many leading devices in the market,
including Toshiba's newest e310 Pocket PC, AboCom Systems' X-Pilot web
pad and Hitachi's NPD-10JWL PDA.

-- DeviceWare - An extensive library of source code (hundreds of
device drivers and utilities) is at the heart of the Schema
Development Suite and was created through years of experience
        in developing microprocessor-based, battery-powered, wireless
embedded devices. Coupled with the platform specific
configuration code, DeviceWare is used to generate any number
of unique system software images based on specific hardware
designs. This is accomplished by abstracting the hardware
dependencies within the DeviceWare software components to a
        configuration layer.

-- CoreLinx - A powerful customization and image building tool
that provides the technologies to produce a unique software
image for a specific embedded device. CoreLinx, in conjunction
with Microsoft's Platform Builder, is used to configure,
customize and build the executable images from DeviceWare.

-- Hardware Platforms - In addition to the code libraries and
tools needed to build a custom embedded device, Accelent
Systems offers a number of hardware platforms that can be used
as a reference to jumpstart the hardware design process.

By having abstracted the hardware dependencies from the DeviceWare
modules, the Schema Development Suite is operating system and
processor independent within the ARM family of processors. While
currently supporting the following processors and operating systems,
others will be released in the near future.
