AccelGraphics' 3D Graphics Accelerators Now Offering Dual-Screen Capability for CAD/CAM Applications.

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 1995--AccelGraphics Inc. today announced support for OpenGL dual-screen capability in its line of high-performance 3D graphics accelerators for MicroStation(R) and other Windows NT/OpenGL-based design applications. By allowing users to display and manipulate graphics on and between both screens, the AccelGraphics AG300 3D accelerator now delivers double the available on-screen real estate for advanced 3D markets including mechanical design, GIS and AEC.

Based on the dual screen format pioneered by Bentley Systems and Intergraph for MicroStation, the dual screen feature provides more screen area for mechanical design -- enabling the user to open more viewports and views of the model. The user can then better visualize and interact with both wireframe and solid model representation of their designs simultaneously. OpenGL support is provided seamlessly across both screens allowing the high-performance, accelerated 3D graphics to be fully exploited. The dual-screen capability is fully compatible with OpenGL, providing users with a highly-optimized 3D graphics pipeline across both screens. In addition, high-speed rendering and dynamic manipulation of both wireframe and shaded models is fully supported.
