AccelGraphics' 3D Graphics Accelerators Now Offering Dual-Screen Capability for CAD/CAM Applications.SAN JOSE San Jose, city, United States San Jose (sănəzā`, săn hōzā`), city (1990 pop. 782,248), seat of Santa Clara co., W central Calif.; founded 1777, inc. 1850. , Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 1995--AccelGraphics Inc. today announced support for OpenGL dual-screen capability in its line of high-performance 3D graphics accelerators for MicroStation(R) and other Windows NT/OpenGL-based design applications. By allowing users to display and manipulate graphics on and between both screens, the AccelGraphics AG300 3D accelerator now delivers double the available on-screen on·screen or on-screen adj. & adv. 1. OpenGL support is provided seamlessly across both screens allowing the high-performance, accelerated 3D graphics to be fully exploited. The dual-screen capability is fully compatible with OpenGL, providing users with a highly-optimized 3D graphics pipeline across both screens. In addition, high-speed rendering and dynamic manipulation of both wireframe and shaded models is fully supported. Lee McCain, president of CAD workstation manufacturer ImAtrex Corporation, commented, "AccelGraphics is delivering a design capability that's been in great demand and short supply for our Predator(TM) and Predator AXP The brand name Digital gave to its first family of Alpha-based computers. AccelGraphics has consistently helped us deliver the latest features to our users, and we see a lot of benefit from this new dual-screen capability." Bruce Imsand, president of high performance CAD PC workstation manufacturer MaxVision Corporation added, "Design professionals using PC systems are now ready to move up to the performance and features which were previously available only from workstation manufacturers like Silicon Graphics. AccelGraphics has shown a commitment to providing users of MaxVision's single- and dual-Pentium Symbion(TM) workstations with unique capabilities, such as the dual-screen support, which are important to many MicroStation and Intergraph application users. AccelGraphics, Inc., develops, manufactures and markets high-performance three-dimensional graphics and image processing accelerators for computer-aided design computer-aided design (CAD) or computer-aided design and drafting (CADD), form of automation that helps designers prepare drawings, specifications, parts lists, and other design-related elements using special graphics- and calculations-intensive and engineering and other technical markets. Sales distribution is managed through select VARs, OEMs and technical distributors with expertise in these target markets. AccelGraphics' 3D graphics accelerators enable technical professionals to visualize 3D data such as designs and models of mechanical parts and assemblies quickly and interactively, thereby dramatically enhancing user productivity when using 3D applications. The ActionGraphics line of higher-performance 3D graphics accelerators delivers high-end workstation graphics performance on platforms supporting the standard, high-bandwidth PCI bus. Supported systems include those based on Intel Corporation's Pentium processor, as well as other processors such as Digital's Alpha and MIPS (Million Instructions Per Second) The execution speed of a computer. For example, .5 MIPS is 500,000 instructions per second; 100 MIPS is a hundred million instructions per second. (TM).
