Academy opens to acclaim.THE first joint faith academy in the country has been given a warm welcome by its students. A group of 180 11-year-old pupils were the first to have lessons at St Francis of Assisi in Fairfield, Liverpool Fairfield is an area of Liverpool encompassing streets between Tuebrook and Kensington and stretching to Old Swan. It consists of mainly terraced houses and the Victorian Newsham Park, for which the area is notable. It is paired with Kensington to form a Liverpool City Council Ward. , and will be joined by another 115 today. The rest of the students, currently being taught at Our Lady's in Everton, will join in the next two months. Madalitsa Maliya declared it "boss," while Alex Shaw said he loved it because everyone was so friendly. The environment is high on the school agenda.
