The Grace Academy in Wigston Road, Woodway Park, just missed the target of having at least 30 per cent of pupils getting five or more GCSEs graded C or above including English and maths this summer. The school's figure came in at 29 per cent after 23 pupils who had been expected to get C grades in maths achieved only a D, some of them missing out by just a few marks. Now a new head of maths has been brought in with a special brief to improve results in the subject.
