Academy Awards back to February next year.


THE Oscars are moving back to February in 2007.

The 79th annual Academy Awards will be held Feb. 25 at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre The Kodak Theatre is a live theatre in the Hollywood and Highland retail, dining, and entertainment complex on Hollywood Boulevard and North Highland Avenue in the Hollywood district of Los Angeles. . It will be televised by ABC-TV.

This year's show was moved to the first Sunday Sunday: see Sabbath; week.  in March to avoid going head-to-head against NBC's broadcast of the Winter Olympics Olympics Sports medicine An international competition among (traditionally) nonprofessional athletes trained in a particular summer or winter sport, which is held every 4 yrs in a selected city. Sid (1) (Society for Information Display, Santa Ana, CA, www.sid.org) A membership organization founded in 1962 devoted to the information display industry. With chapters around the world, SID hosts conferences in the U.S. and abroad and publishes a monthly magazine.  Ganis, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, announced the key Oscar dates last week, noting that the February show means nominations and the balloting process will take place earlier than they did this year.

Oscar nominees will be announced Jan 23. Final ballots will be mailed Jan. 31 and will be due Feb. 20.
