Oregon State cornerback Dennis Weathersby Dennis Weathersby (born June 16, 1980 in Glendora, California) is a former NFL cornerback for the Cincinnati Bengals. He played in college for Oregon State University. At OSU he started 45 games, and set a school record of 57 passes deflected.  became just the fourth player in conference history to be named to the Pac-10 all-academic first team four times when the 2002 honorees were announced Wednesday.

Volleyball

The Oregon volleyball team concludes its season with matches against No. 13 Washington State and Washington at McArthur Court this weekend.

The Ducks (11-19, 1-15 Pac-10) meet the Cougars today at 7 p.m. Washington State (19-7, 9-7) has beaten Oregon in 23 straight matches, including a 3-0 win on Sept. 21 in Pullman, Wash. Last week the Cougars defeated then-No. 1 Stanford.

The Huskies (15-10, 7-9) fell out of the top 25 after losing their last three matches. They beat the Ducks 3-0 on Sept. 20 in Seattle and have won three straight over Oregon.

Washington's match with Oregon is scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday, following the conclusion of the women's basketball team's season opener against Gonzaga, which will tip-off at 5 p.m.

Softball

First-year Oregon coach Kathy Arendsen announced the signings of three players to national letters of intent to play for the Ducks in 2004.

Pitcher Andrea Nyhus of White Rock, B.C., will be a junior after transferring from Central Arizona Community College, where she was a first-team all-American as a freshman last season with 34 wins and 249 strikeouts. Infielder/outfielder Kristi Leiter of Lake Stevens, Wash., and Susanna Barnes of Lake Forest Park, Wash., are both currently high school seniors.

Soccer

Oregon goalie Sarah Peters and Oregon State defender Mandy Melendez earned honorable mention on the all-Pac-10 women's soccer team, the conference announced Wednesday.

Wrestling

Two-time state champion Kyle Larson of Hermiston has signed a letter of intent to wrestle for Oregon State, OSU coach Joe Wells announced Wednesday.

Larson won at 112 pounds as a freshman and 145 as a junior. He has a 115-7 record with 60 pins for the Bulldogs in his career.

Four current Beavers attended Hermiston, including Kyle's older brother, Jeremy Larson.

Track and field

Nolan Swanson of Eugene and Dave Davis of Portland will represent the United States at the world's most competitive road race, the Chiba International Ekiden in Chiba, Japan, on Saturday, the USATF USATF United States of America Track and Field (governing body for T&F, Race Walking & Distance Running)  announced.

Tennis

Two-time defending Midwestern League girls singles champion Kelli Royer has signed a letter of intent to play tennis at the University of North Texas in Denton.

The Churchill senior is ranked as the No. 206 high school girls High School Girls (女子高生 Joshi Kōsei  player in the nation.
