Academic Systems to Release Major Upgrades for Math and English Multimedia Products.

Business Editors/Education & High-Tech Writers

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 9, 2000

Academic Systems announces major enhancements to its Year 2000 release of Interactive Mathematics and Interactive English instructional programs. Based on faculty suggestions and its ongoing commitment to campus partners, Academic Systems has significantly improved these interactive multimedia programs, which help college students in entry-level and developmental courses increase their mathematics and writing skills.

"We have made considerable enhancements based on feedback from faculty," said John Brandon, president of Academic Systems. "Our partner campuses will feel like these are totally new products because they can customize their course to meet the needs of their classes."

Two- and four-year colleges use Interactive Mathematics and Interactive English in computer labs and classrooms, in distance learning settings on the Internet Internet

Interactive Mathematics and Interactive English were enhanced based on feedback from faculty users. Each year, Academic Systems hosts regional meetings where faculty share ideas and suggest enhancements. The company then compiles a list of all suggestions and asks all participating campuses to identify and vote for their top priorities. The next product release reflects these priorities.

For the Academic Online 2000 product release, Interactive Mathematics and Interactive English are multimedia-rich, fast, and reliable, while the Internet provides students and instructors with new instruction and customization, including links to course content.
