) announced today that its subsidiary, Credit Card Fraud Credit card fraud is a wide-ranging term for theft and fraud committed using a credit card or any similar payment mechanism as a fraudulent source of funds in a transaction. The purpose may be to obtain goods without paying, or to obtain unauthorized funds from an account.  Control Corporation, has entered into a non-exclusive patent license and settlement agreement with Full Spectrum Telecommunications, Inc. covering a patent that applies to fraud protection technology. This resolves a dispute between the parties, Case No. 2:08-cv-06-DF that was pending before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas is the Federal district court with jurisdiction over the eastern part of Texas and is a part of the Fifth Circuit. The court's headquarters are in Tyler, Texas and has five subdivision offices. .

This patented technology generally relates to methods for determining and preventing fraud when using telephonic, computer network or other communication services to complete a sale. The claims cover methods for preventing fraud during the purchase of services for entertainment or technical support. These methods help protect vendors from credit card charge-backs and help protect consumers whose credit card numbers may have been stolen.
