Abuja--in Nigeria, Catholic bishops urged the government to ensure the April 2007 elections are free and fair in a statement on the theme "Good Governance, Democracy and Christian responsibility".


Abuja -- In Nigeria, Catholic bishops urged the government to ensure the April 2007 elections are free and fair in a statement on the theme "Good Governance The terms governance and good governance are increasingly being used in development literature. Governance describes the process of decision-making and the process by which decisions are implemented (or not implemented). , Democracy and Christian responsibility" (Catholic Info Service for Africa, Mar. 6, 2007). These elections will either increase or diminish the respect that the international community has for Nigeria," the bishops said.
