Abuelo's Reopens for Business Following Weekend Fire.BEAVERCREEK, Ohio Beavercreek is a city in Greene County, Ohio, United States. It is a suburb of Dayton, Ohio. The population was 37,984 at the 2000 census. The Beavercreek area was settled in the early 1800s, and in 1979, a part of Beavercreek Township was incorporated and became the City of -- Abuelo's Mexican Food Embassy restaurant, located at 2420 N. Fairfield Rd., reopens for business today, Thursday, Dec. 14, less than a week after suffering a minor fire which forced the Mexican restaurant to close. On Friday evening, Dec. 8, a small fire broke out in Abuelo's kitchen as contractors were doing minor repairs after the restaurant had closed. Damages were negligible and the restaurant had no structural damage. "We were very fortunate that the fire was quickly contained, thanks to the prompt response and outstanding efforts of the Beavercreek Township Fire Department. The fire fighters and local community really pulled together to help us out, and I want to thank them all for their hard work and commitment. Additionally, we are so appreciative of the contractors' hard work which allowed us to reopen re·o·pen tr. & intr.v. re·o·pened, re·o·pen·ing, re·o·pens 1. To open or be opened again: Officials reopened the airport after the snow was cleared. Following the fire, Abuelo's donated its prepared food and bulk produce to the St. Vincent Hotel, an emergency overnight shelter for men, women and children in the Dayton area.
