Abu Dhabi to host key Unesco meeting.

The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH ADACH Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage ), is set to host the fourth meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee of Intangible Heritage of the Unesco from September 28 to October 2.

The meeting emphasises the role of Abu Dhabi as one of the major culture and tourism centres in the world, and is in line with the directives of general Sheikh sheikh
 or shaykh

Among Arabic-speaking tribes, especially Bedouin, the male head of the family, as well as of each successively larger social unit making up the tribal structure. The sheikh is generally assisted by an informal tribal council of male elders.

The meeting will work on the registration of intangible heritage components of intangible heritage that need urgent preservation, and the representative list of human intangible heritage at the Unesco, said a statement from Adach, which is headed by Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

The meeting will also select the programs and activities that the committee deems as representative of the principles and goals of the agreement to preserve human intangible heritage, as the committee hopes to undertake good practices to raise public awareness of intangible heritage.

In August, the UAE accomplished preparing the registration file of the sport of falconry falconry (fôl`kənrē, fô`–, făl`–), sport of hunting birds or small animals with falcons or other types of hawks; eagles are used in some parts of the world.  to be included in the Unesco's representative list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage The notion of intangible cultural heritage emerged in the 90s, as a counter part to the World Heritage that focusses mainly on tangible aspects of culture. In 2001, UNESCO made a survey[1] among States and NGOs to try to agree on a definition, and a Convention  of Humanity, said the Adach statement.- TradeArabia News Service
