Abu Dhabi Tawteen Council focuses on aerospace at Najah.

Abu Dhabi Tawteen Council, the government body tasked with achieving full and sustainable employment for Emirati jobseekers, has hailed as an outstanding success its recent participation in the three-day Najah Exhibition in Abu Dhabi.

The event, which was targeted at young Emirati graduates and jobseekers in the UAE, enabled ADTC to demonstrate the services it can provide to assist them in their job search. Throughout the three days from 20 to 22 October, ADTC hosted a large number of visitors on their stand, who undertook a variety of complementary services, including a diagnostic assessment, career counselling and a free prize competition, to give an insight into how ADTC can assist providing guidance on the jobseeker journey.

ADTC's aim is to focus on those industries and sectors that contribute to the overall GDP of the UAE. Accordingly the council also hosted a unique seminar in collaboration with Mubadala Aerospace exploring career opportunities for jobseekers in the aerospace industry in Abu Dhabi, as part of the Government's focus on developing a knowledge based economy in line with its vision 2030.

Speaking on the event ADTC General Manager, H.E. Abdullah Saeed Al Darmaki said: "our participation in Najah was a platform for ADTC to engage with its core target audience of Emirati jobseekers, who may not be fully aware of the opportunities and possibilities in both the public and private sector. We were delighted to have taken this opportunity to highlight the key growth industries for Abu Dhabi and how we can assist Emiratis to take advantage of them, through attaining the relevant further qualifications required for a successful long-term career. In particular we are pleased to have been able to focus on the aerospace industry in our seminar with Mubadala Aerospace, to demonstrate that the prospects for the Emirati jobseekers are bright"

The seminar hosted with the support of Mubadala Aerospace, included a presentation by two leading aerospace industry experts from The Boeing Company, Mr. Juma Rashid Al Dhaheri, Executive Director, Business Development, and Mr. Wael Mohamed Zaoud, Director, Business Development. The presentation focused on the development plans for the industry in the UAE and Mubadala's investments in Abu Dhabi. 2009 Al Bawaba (www.albawaba.com)
