Abu Dhabi Chamber Unveils 5-year Strategy.


Summary: ABU DHABI Abu Dhabi (ä`b thä`bē, zä–, dä–), Arab. Abu Zabi, sheikhdom (1995 pop. 928,360), c.  u Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, or ADCCI ADCCI Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry , announced that it has framed its new strategy for the five-year period from 2009 to 2013.

Disclosing this in a Press statement on Saturday, Engineer Salah Salem bin Omair Al Shamsi, Chairman of ADCCI, said the strategy is aimed Aa at enhancing the quality of services provided by the Chamber so as to Aa promote private sector's contributions in building the emirate's economy on a solid foundation. The strategy has identified seven priorities, 14 goals and 42 Aa initiatives to be launched over the next five years, the statement said. It, however, did not give out full details of the strategy. The Chamber will be submitting 20 recommendations annually on the measures to be taken by various stakeholders Stakeholders

Systematic efforts will be made to conclude the co-operation agreements with institutions, government departments and private sector companies to work towards common goals envisaged in the 'Economic vision for Abu Dhabi 2030', the statement said.

The Chamber will strive to reduce the reliance on membership fees and increase other sources of income for its activities aimed at providing Aa better services and information to entrepreneurs. Events will be organised to develop the capacity and competitiveness of Abu Dhabi to attract foreign investment.

Research programmes will be launched to study economic policies of the country and all laws related to the work of companies and other private sector institutions, the statement said.Aa
