Abu Dhabi - The Logistics.ADNOC ADNOC Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and its foreign partners have built advanced logistical systems, with an extensive network of oil and gas pipelines linking the fields to export terminals and storage facilities. Pipelines have been built to supply gas to Abu Dhabi's downstream industries, power plants, etc. Storage facilities for oil products and gas liquids have been expanded. There are nine oil and gas terminals in Abu Dhabi Abu Dhabi (ä`b thä`bē, zä–, dä–), Arab. Abu Zabi, sheikhdom (1995 pop. 928,360), c. , four

Ruwais, the main industrial zone, has a 3-km oil jetty jetty: see coast protection. with two deep-water berths and four coastal berths, a jetty for gas liquids, and storage facilities for oil products and gas liquids. The terminal is being expanded further to handle increased production from ADCO's Bab field. Port Zayed, in Abu Dhabi city 7 km south of the main harbour, has two oil jetties for tankers of up to 20,000 dwt. Umm Al Nar has two berths for oil products serving 5,000 to 20,000 dwt tankers. Das island Das Island is part of the emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates but lies well offshore, about 100 miles north-west of the mainland. It covers approximately ¾ of a mile by 1½ miles. can serve VLCCs of up to 410,000 dwt with 24.08 metres draft and has storage tanks for 8.9m barrels of crude. The island also has a major LNG LNG (liquefied natural gas): see under natural gas. terminal. Zirku island, handling crude oil exports from Upper Zakum, has two berths to serve four tankers of up to 320,000 dwt with a max. draft of 28 metres and a loading rate of 15,000 t/h. Its oil and gas handling facilities are being expanded. ZADCO ZADCO Zakum Development Company (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) has installed on Zirku a new system to process gas previously flared and supply it to the Das LNG complex. This includes compressors, a dehydration unit and a 10-inch, 40 km pipeline to Das. Abu Bukhoosh can serve VLCCs of up to 300,000 dwt with a draft of 22ntres, and has a 231,799 dwt storage vessel 'Eiko Maru'. Mubarraz island has one SBM SBM - Solution Based Modelling for tankers of up to 250,000 dwt with a draft of 13.5 metres, and crude oil storage tanks for 1.5m barrels. Abu Dhabi Petroleum Ports Operating Co. (ADPPOC), incorporated in 1979 as a JV between ADNOC and LAMNALCO, operates the oil terminals of Jebel Dhanna, Ruwais, Umm Al Nar, Zirku island, Mubarraz island and Das island. It has diving and terminal maintenance operations. ADPPOC inspection divers maintain the oil terminals and provide underwater jetty maintenance to port users at Ruwais.
