Abstract submissions for 2008 APHA Annual Meeting open.

Public health professionals interested in presenting at APHA's 136th Annual Meeting in San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay.  can begin submitting their abstracts now.

The meeting, which will run from Oct. 25-29, has a theme of "Public Health Without Borders A number of NGOs have adopted the "Without Borders" tag, inspired by Doctors without Borders.

." While participants are encouraged to submit abstracts that tie into the meeting's theme, presentations focusing on any public health topic are welcome. Program planners from APHA's many Sections, Special Primary Interest Groups, Caucuses, the Student Assembly as well as Forums select the scientific presentations offered during the Annual Meeting's hundreds of scientific sessions.

Abstracts are now being accepted and must be submitted via an online form at http://apha.confex.com/ apha/136am/oasys.epl. The deadline for abstract submissions runs from Feb. 4-8 depending on the Section, SPIG SPIG Shared Parenting Information Group (UK) , Caucus caucus: see convention. , Assembly or Forum to which an abstract is submitted. Abstract submissions must be no longer than 250 words and include learning objectives. Also, authors must provide complete and accurate contact information, as well as fill out a conflict-of-interest statement with their submission.

While anyone can submit an abstract, presenters must be an APHA member and register for the Annual Meeting if their abstract is accepted.
