To change for the better; improve: amended the earlier proposal so as to make it more comprehensive. 2. its previous press release in which it announced its exchange offer for all of the outstanding 11 1/2% Senior Secured Notes due 2004, Series A, and 11 1/2% Senior Notes due 2004, Series D, issued by Abraxas and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Canadian Abraxas Petroleum Limited. Abraxas corrected its earlier announcement in which the notes to be issued in the exchange offer were referred to as 11 1/2% Senior Secured Notes due 2007, Series A. To furnish with a right or claim to something: 11 1/2% Secured Notes due 2007, Series A. In exchange for each $1,000 in principal amount of the old notes tendered in the exchange offer, Abraxas is offering the following consideration: -- cash in the amount of $264; -- a new 11 1/2% Secured Note due 2007, Series A, with a principal amount of $610; and -- approximately 31.36 shares of Abraxas common stock. The exchange offer is scheduled to expire at 12:00 midnight on Jan. 7, 2003.
