A line of Type 1 straight-sided cotton-reinforced abrasive grinding wheels that provide chatter-free performance for deburring and finishing turbine roots and other precision-machined or cast parts is available from Rex-Cut Products. The wheels are designed to grind, debur and finish in one step by constantly exposing fresh abrasives as they work. Constructed from non-woven cotton fabric and aluminum oxide or silicon carbide abrasives that are laminated, pressed and bonded together, these wheels provide a smooth, controlled operation with a consistent cut rate and finish. Suitable for stainless steel and other hard materials, the wheels can remove exit burrs from machined parts and edge break or clean up cast turbine blades without affecting the part's geometry.
