Abrams Benisch opens in CT.

Despite a series of office cutbacks and closings by real estate brokerages in the New York City suburban office markets of Westchester and Fairfield Counties, Abrams Benisch Riker, Inc./Colliers International Property Consultants (ABR), the New York-based commercial real estate brokerage, has expanded its operations and opened its first regional office.

The office, which serves a market including the southern counties of Connecticut and New York states, is located at Greenwich Office park #9, 10 Valley Drive in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Through its New York office, ABR has always maintained a strong regional presence. Most recently, the firm was responsible for some of the market's largest transactions, including the corporate headquarters relocation of Tambrands, Inc. (76,000 square feet) from Lake Success to White Plains, and Macmillan, Inc. (50,000 square feet)-from Manhattan to Greenwich. Past accomplishments include arranging for the development of the new Coca-Cola Bottling Corp. facilities in Greenwich; serving as consultant to GTE on the evaluation of its headquarters leasehold in Stamford,; conducting a two-year facilities search and arranging a relocation to Stamford for the former USI Corporation; and negotiating leases for Westchester facilities/providing complete construction management services for the creation of a preeminent research and development center for Joseph E. Seagram & Sons.

The new ABR regional office is exclusive agent for Taxter Corporate Park in Elmsford, New York, which it has brought to 95 percent occupancy, and 55 Railroad Avenue in Greenwich, now more than 87 percent leased as a result of ABR's efforts.
