Aboriginal talent showcased in Edmonton gala.

The Rubaboo Performance Gala, taking place June 12 and 13 at The Avenue Theatre in Edmonton, will showcase the vibrancy of local and national Aboriginal artists in Edmonton. The gala caps a series of training and mentoring activities in which the award winning Workshop West Theatre worked with First Nations and Metis producers, directors and actors. "Edmonton has so many really talented First Nations and Metis theatre artists," said Michael Clark, Workshop West's artistic director. The gala is produced with a hope to further develop the considerable skills of the Aboriginal artists to create and deliver cultural programming to their community, and build a larger audience in Edmonton.
