The Italian Ministry of health has authorized the experimentation of Abiogen Pharma's osteogenic growth peptide.

OGP 10-14 L is the smallest active sequence of the natural 14-mer peptide named Osteogenic Growth Peptide (OGP 1-14), which shows mitogenic and differentiating activities on stromal and staminal bone marrow cells. A formulation adequate for IV injection was developed by Abiogen Pharma S.p.A. in order to treat several disorders affecting bone marrow.

The first protocol approved by the Italian Health Authorities for clinical phase I concerns Myelofibrosis, an orphan disease with severe symptoms and prognosis. Other protocols will follow in the bone marrow transplantation and oncology fields.

Abiogen Pharma's Research and Development Department is also developing several drugs in various sectors of pharmacology, such as neuropharmacology, oncology and others, at present in clinical phase I or II. Furthermore, important projects of biotechnological compounds are arising in collaboration with international partners and Research Centres of prestigious American Universities.
