Abington Memorial Hospital Successfully Activates Eclipsys' Sunrise Clinical Manager 3.5 XA.

ABINGTON, Pa. & BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Response Time, Performance Exceed Rigorous Requirements of Leading Healthcare Organization

Eclipsys Corporation(R), The Outcomes Company(R), (NASDAQ:ECLP), today announced that Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington, PA, has successfully activated Eclipsys' Sunrise(TM) Clinical Manager release 3.5 XA(TM). The activation occurred less than one month after the general availability of the advanced clinical software solution.

Eclipsys currently anticipates that approximately 15 to 20 sites will activate Sunrise Clinical Manager 3.5 XA by the end of 2004. Another 46 customers are currently planning to activate Sunrise Clinical Manager 3.5 XA in 2005.

Alison L. Ferren, the hospital's chief information officer, reports that, "Release 3.5 XA meets our rigorous requirements for performance in a live environment." She noted that system performance is even better than what Abington Memorial experienced with release 3.3, the preceding release of Sunrise Clinical Manager XA. "As with release 3.3, our physicians are finding that system response times and stability are excellent, as is overall system performance."

Keith Sweigard, MD, chief of internal medicine and physician liaison to the hospital's Information Systems department, concurred with Ferren's assessment. Independent third-party testing

Sunrise Clinical Manager 3.5 XA was subjected to extensive internal testing before its general availability on June 30, 2004. "Release 3.5 reflects Eclipsys' attention to the high quality and robust performance that our customers expect and require," said John Gomez, Eclipsys' chief technology officer. Gomez noted that Sunrise Clinical Manager 3.5 XA has been thoroughly analyzed by Aberdeen Group, an independent research firm. Results of that analysis are expected to be released in the coming weeks.

Sunrise Clinical Manager release 3.5 XA represents the next phase in the evolution of Eclipsys' advanced clinical solutions. Release 3.5 has significantly more functionality than previous releases of Eclipsys' award-winning Sunrise Clinical Manager. Release 3.5 includes significant additional functionality for core clinical, ambulatory and emergency department solutions as well as enhancements to its patient management functions. Release 3.5 also extends support for physicians through the inclusion of advanced functionality for clinical decision support, structured notes, medical necessity checking, prescription writing and medication management configuration.

Release 3.5 XA includes significant enhancements in remote access services, furthering Eclipsys' vision of "anytime and anywhere" accessibility by physicians. With this capability, physicians can review patient results, view documents, access secure health messaging and obtain clinical patient summaries securely from home, the office, the airport or elsewhere, thereby increasing the speed, continuity and efficiency of care delivery.

Sunrise Clinical Manager 3.5 XA also extends support for nurses by including significant additional clinical documentation and Knowledge-Based Charting capabilities. Release 3.5 is preconfigured for use with evidence-based medical content to support best-practice treatment plans. The incorporation of clinical practice guidelines within release 3.5 XA helps healthcare organizations meet the professional standards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the Magnet Recognition Program for nurses.
