Abbey Road Interactive Expands DVD Production Facility With Spruce DVD Authoring Systems.

Business Editors and High Tech Writers

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 22, 2000

Abbey Road Interactive, the pioneering multimedia production division of Abbey Road Studios Abbey Road Studios, created in November of 1931 by EMI in London, England is best known as the recording studio used by musicians such as The Beatles, Cliff Richard, Al Stewart, Pink Floyd, Oasis, The Shadows and Elliott Smith. , has expanded its DVD authoring capabilities by installing the DVDMaestro(TM) authoring system from Spruce Technologies. Among the first titles produced using DVDMaestro were the Eurythmics eurythmics or eurhythmics (both: yth`mĭks)  Peace Tour disc and the Thunderbirds Volumes 1-8 discs.

According to Abbey Road Interactive Technical Manager Rob Pinniger, "When the time came to buy our fifth authoring system our deliberations didn't take long. DVDMaestro's combination of ease-of-use, speed of production and robust nature, combined with Spruce Technologies' good reputation for customer support, meant that the decision was easy."

Since its establishment in February 1997, Abbey Road Interactive has quadrupled in size and has recently moved into a state of the art new facility. The installation of Spruce DVDMaestro is part of a new expansion to increase efficiency and capacity.

Pinniger said, "Spruce's products are known for being easy and quick to use. Our long-term experience of DVD authoring, combined with DVDMaestro's shallow learning curve meant that we could begin producing commercial work on the system the day we installed it."

Abbey Road Interactive was one of the pioneers of DVD-Video in Europe, producing the UK's first commercial DVD DVD: see digital versatile disc.
