The two-month-old ginger was left abandoned in an Avon branded box on Bluebell Road, Dudley, last Wednesday.

It was found by passing children and taken to a local vets. RSPCA officers say the kitten was in reasonable condition but suffering from diarrhoea.

Inspector Martin Dolan said: "It's hard to fathom why this kitten was abandoned like this, but it's vital that we find the owner as soon as possible. The welfare needs of this animal were completely ignored and such conduct is unacceptable."
