Abaco's Varadero Featured At Symbol's Launch

of New Software E-commerce Website

Abaco PR, Inc. (Abaco) and Symbol Technologies (NYSE: SBL) today announced an agreement at the Symbol Software Developers Conference whereby Symbol will resell Abaco's Varadero thin-client application server and software development kit.

Under the terms of the agreement, Symbol will enable Abaco's Varadero on their line of mobile computing products, including the PPT 2740 model. The agreement also outlines how Abaco's Varadero product line will be available to all Symbol customers and channel partners through Symbol's new software e-commerce website.

Abaco's Varadero is a thin-client application server and software development kit that contains components for building full-featured enterprise data collection applications that includes the new generation of Windows-powered Pocket PC-based automated data collection devices. Varadero applications are developed using full Microsoft Visual Basic along with custom controls designed specifically for wireless transactional-based data collection, eliminating the special expertise traditionally required for handheld wireless applications.

Varadero uses less than 100K of space on the device, enables full use of Visual Basic for development and handles multiple sessions communicating to multiple servers, providing the user with a tool kit to develop applications quickly, cost-efficiently and easily, with minimal space requirements. Additionally, each time a unit checks into the network server, version control enables the device to immediately upload the latest version of software, thereby reducing the cost and time of manually updating each device.
