AYDIN Selected For Delta IV Launch Vehicle Program.

NEWTOWN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 29, 1999--AYDIN TELEMETRY, a Division of AYDIN CORPORATION (NYSE:AYD), has been selected as subcontractor by Boeing, Huntington Beach, California, to provide Test Instrumentation for the Delta IV Launch Vehicle Program.

The Boeing Delta IV/Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle Program (EELV) is a multi-year U.S. Air Force effort aimed at reducing space launch costs by more than 25 percent. To meet these requirements, Boeing is offering the Delta IV family of vehicles. The family includes five launch vehicles: Medium, Heavy, and three variants of the Medium vehicle, know as Medium-plus, which have been introduced to meet the needs of the commercial market.

AYDIN TELEMETRY (Vector Products) will manufacture the Test Instrumen-tation equipment, and deliver the equipment for use in vehicle integration and launch monitoring at both Kennedy Space Center, FL and Vandenberg AFB., CA.

The Data Acquisition System is based on the AYDIN TELEMETRY Model PCU-816 Master and Remote Signal Conditioning and Encoding Systems. The equipment, configured as a distributed data acquisition system, will be implemented using a fiber optic communications network.

Delivery on the contract is expected to start in June 1999 and extend through the first quarter of the year 2000.
