 AWT SUBSIDIARY AWARDED $5.2 MILLION DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
 WASTEWATER TREATMENT CONTRACT
 BRANCHBURG, N.J., Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Metcalf & Eddy, a subsidiary of Air & Water Technologies Corporation (AMEX: AWT), has been awarded a four-year, $5.2 million contract by the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Utilities Administration to conduct a major startup assistance program. The program will bring more than 25 new and updated treatment processes on-line, upgrading the district's wastewater treatment facility and expanding it from 309 to 370 mgd. Metcalf & Eddy designed improvements to the facility including the addition of a unique pump station and eight dual-purpose sedimentation basins.
 In addition to providing startup services, Metcalf & Eddy will write or update standard operating procedures for new and upgraded processes, conduct quarterly critiques of the entire facility operation, and provide training for operation and maintenance staff. The firm will also prepare extensive equipment documentation, work orders, and tasking instructions for the facility's computerized maintenance management system.
