AWFS studies Las Vegas as future show site. (Trends & News).


THE ASSOCIATION OF Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers' exhibitor and attendee surveys at the AWFS AWFS Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers  Woodworking Fair in Anaheim included the question: For future shows would you prefer to stay in Anaheim or have the show in Las Vegas Las Vegas (läs vā`gəs), city (1990 pop. 258,295), seat of Clark co., S Nev.; inc. 1911. It is the largest city in Nevada and the center of one of the fastest-growing urban areas in the United States. ? This has in turn brought up the question: Is the AWFS Fair moving to Las Vegas?

"The answer to this question is that, no, we are not moving to Las Vegas anytime soon," said Dale Silverman, AWFS executive director. "Over the years we have considered it an option, but the Las Vegas Convention Center The Las Vegas Convention Center is owned and operated by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and is located in Clark County, Nevada. It is one of the largest Convention centers in the world. At the end of 2004, the center had 3.  was always too small to accommodate the fair before. It has recently doubled its size so AWFS is now looking at it as a possibility."

The 2003 AWFS Woodworking Fair will definitely be in Anaheim. AWE'S has no contract with the Las Vegas Convention Center, but Silverman said it has become an option because it is now one of the largest convention centers in the West, In the meantime Adv. 1. in the meantime - during the intervening time; "meanwhile I will not think about the problem"; "meantime he was attentive to his other interests"; "in the meantime the police were notified"

, AWFS has formed an ad hoc committee ad hoc committee A committee formed with the purpose of addressing a specific issue or issues, which theoretically is disbanded once its raison d'etre is finished  for the investigation of future locations.

"Our ad hoc committee is looking into the Las Vegas Convention Center as a viable venue," said Silverman, "but many factors must be considered in this, such as accommodations, dates, attendee and exhibitor willingness to move, set up, cost for exhibitors to move their equipment there, location, etc. For right now we just want to investigate other options and see what attendees and exhibitors would prefer. We have had 12 great years at the Anaheim Convention Center Anaheim Convention Center is a major convention center in Anaheim, California. It is located across from the Disneyland Resort on Katella Avenue. Much of the Anaheim Convention Center has been renovated in recent years with state-of-the-art facilities.  and are just looking at our options."
