The Canadian Association for Community Education has named The Law Foundation of Saskatchewan as the Community Organization of the Year for donating money earned from monies held in trust for clients in an interest-bearing account to efforts including law libraries, legal aid, legal education and research.

University of Saskatchewan The University of Saskatchewan (U of S) is a coeducational public research university located on the east side of the South Saskatchewan River in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The University is celebrating its centennial year in 2007.  chemistry professor Stephen Urquhart has been awarded a $680,000 grant for developing an elite microscope to be utilized at the Canadian Light Source synchrotron The Canadian Light Source (CLS) is a third-generation 2.9 GeV synchrotron located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. It opened on October 22, 2004 after three years of construction and cost C$173.5 million. .

A grant has also been awarded to Katie Mitchell, an assistant physics professor, who received approximately $100,000 for furthering her study of nanostructures and spectroscopy.

An industry/government initiative known as The Saskatchewan Dream, designed to encourage and promote entrepreneurism in Saskatchewan, has selected eight

companies to honor and recognize for their outstanding entrepreneurial endeavors. These companies include: Hitachi Canadian Industries Hitachi Canadian Industries Ltd.
