AWARD-WINNING WATERCOLOR ARTIST TO DEMONSTRATE CRAFT.

The Simi Valley Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  Art Association's meeting place has been changed to the Art Stop, 995 E. Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  Ave., where Candi Ferguson will host the 7 p.m. meeting Tuesday.

Valley, southern California, U.S. Northwest of central Los Angeles, the valley is bounded by the San Gabriel, Santa Susana, and Santa Monica mountains and the Simi Hills.

The public is invited to the Art Stop's grand opening 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today. There will be workshops and music. A mini-gallery in the Art Stop will feature work by SVAA members, coordinated by association exhibit Chairwoman Janet Wagner.

The Art Stop can be found in back of Kountry Folks restaurant on First Street, the phone number is 578-9343. For more information regarding SVAA, call Brown at 526-3111. Julie Hopkins is the association president.

Cookie lovers who missed connections with their neighborhood Girl Scout cookie A Girl Scout cookie is one of several varieties of cookie sold on neighborhood tours by Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) as a fundraiser for their organization. Members of the GSUSA have been selling cookies since 1917 to raise funds for their units.  sellers may still place advance orders for delivery by calling the Tres Condados County program office, 649-9363. Direct sales in malls and shopping centers will open March 1 and the program office will know these locations.

Chairing the cookie campaign in Moorpark is Candy Kaminsky. In Simi Valley the annual fund-raiser is being coordinated by Janine McCluskey, Merle merle

The long-awaited regular open house schedule at the restored Santa Susana Santa Susana can refer to several places:
  • The Santa Susana Mountains in southern California
  • Santa Susana Pass, running through the abovementioned mountains
  • Santa Susana Field Laboratory, near Los Angeles, a test facility for rockets and (formerly) nuclear reactors
 Railroad Depot is now in effect, Simi Valley Community Council members learned last week from Bill Funk, treasurer of the Rancho Simi Foundation.

Admission is free between 1 and 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday at the restored former Southern Pacific Station relocated in Santa Susana Park, Katherine Avenue at Santa Susana Pass Santa Susana Pass is a mountain pass connecting Simi Valley to the San Fernando Valley.

Group tours for children of elementary school age may be scheduled by calling foundation president, Walt Griffin, at 581-3462.

Funk was recently honored by Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District for his 14 years of service as the foundation's treasurer. This body of volunteers was formed to raise supplementary funds when the park district's budget was slashed by the passage of Proposition 13. Their efforts have benefited numerous other district facilities in addition to the depot.

Depot visitors will find ample parking at the lower level of the park, with a handrail-equipped stairway leading to the entrance.
