AWARD NOMINEES FETED COMMUNITY-LEADER FINALISTS TO BE PICKED.Byline: Daily News Ten people who have made outstanding contributions to the community will be honored Aug. 19 at the Jesse F. McHam Fernando Nomination Luncheon at the Hilton Hotel in Woodland Hills, officials announced Monday. From the 10 nominees, the names of five finalists will be announced at the conclusion of the luncheon. They will be honored at a gala dinner in November when this year's Fernando Award winner will be announced. The nominees are: --Jill Banks Barad, the chair of the Valley Alliance of Neighborhood Councils Neighborhood councils are governmental or non-governmental bodies composed of local people who handle neighborhood problems.
