AW Computer Systems, Inc. Announces Pilot of its New Computer Vision System.


MOUNT LAUREL, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 1, 1995--AW Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: AWCSA), a leading provider of point-of-sale systems to the nation's major retailers, today reported that it has successfully completed and demonstrated the laboratory version of its new product, code-named "CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism. Its annual awards honored outstanding examples in print, broadcast and electronic media. The CPA disbanded in 2000. ".

The system is already installed in a pilot store of a leading, national supermarket chain.

CPA is the Company's latest, innovative supermarket checkout system enhancement. It materially improves accuracy at the supermarket point-of-sale by means of Computer Vision Technology. As merchandise moves through the checkout process, CPA visually verifies that each scanned item is correctly identified and priced. Omissions, substitions and other checkout errors are brought to the attention of store management by means of computer-based alerts, including a snapshot and video clips of the event.
